A word from the Wise

Heads up! The wise One in this scenario is not me.

These posts were written in my time with God. He expands my understanding of who He is, through His whisper He reminds me of where to find these truths in scripture.

He ALWAYS uses bible references in fresh ways that I could not have made up myself. I am intelligent and a contemplative but His wisdom far surpasses that of the human mind.

Just as He did with the disciples when he instructed them in the kingdom of God, He still speaks in parables. We say today that a picture is worth a thousand words but  this is not a new idea. Jesus frequently employed images and stories to describe the heart of His messages.

He gets things across in ways that go deeper than intellectual assent of truth.

He makes things come alive in a way that brings us revelation about the state of our heart.

And the more we value it the more we will receive!

In Matthew 13 it says in verse 10 And the disciples came and said to Him, “Why do You speak to them in parables?” 11Jesus answered them, “To you it has been granted to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it has not been granted. 12 For whoever has, to him more shall be given, and he will have an abundance; but whoever does not have, even what he has shall be taken away from him.”

I used to think this so unfair. Listen again, He who treasures the kingdom by investing his time (a disciple) in understanding will be able to hear more truth, thus be able to possess more.

It is the glory of God to conceal a matter,
But the glory of kings is to search out a matter
