As it is In Heaven

As I worshipped this morning, I was singing along, ” as it is in Heaven, so it is in me” it became so personal. I had the revelation of the light of God’s glory as it is in Heaven. No darkness is found in Heaven. Period. Nothing can touch me there. No demonic influence of condemnation.

Matthew 6: 9 Our Father who is in heaven, Hallowed be Your Name, Your Kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven

When the disciples asked Jesus to teach them how to pray Jesus gave us the ‘Lords prayer’.  Like anything Jesus says, the revelation involved could result in numerous sermons. Take the first two words: Our Father. So simply, Jesus identifies with us, declares us one in our need of a Heavenly Father.

Luke also talks about the Lords prayer but in his account Jesus goes on to talk about Our Fathers’ character.

Luke 11:11 “Let me ask you this: Do you know of any father who would give his son a snake on a plate when he asked for a serving of fish? Of course not! 12 Do you know of any father who would give his daughter a spider when she had asked for an egg? Of course not! 13 If imperfect parents know how to lovingly take care of their children and give them what they need, how much more will the perfect heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit’s fullness when his children ask him.”

From there I was reminded of Romans 8:32 For God has proved his love giving us his greatest treasure, the gift of his Son. And since God freely offered him up as the sacrifice for us all, he certainly won’t withhold from us anything else he has to give.

I continued to read on to verse 38 So now I live with the confidence that there is nothing in the universe with the power to separate us from God’s love. I’m convinced that his love will triumph over death, life’s troubles, fallen angels, or dark rulers in the heavens”

There it was in scripture the reminder of the proof against any demonic influence attempting to interrupt my experience of God’s kingdom. It was Jesus who prayed, “on earth as it is in heaven” and that includes me.

The word ‘deposed’ came to me. I knew the word meant overthrown but I looked it up anyway. When we hear something from the Lord we should always take it seriously! Depose: overthrow, unseat, dethrone, topple remove, supplant, displace, dismiss, oust, throw out, drum out, expel, eject, and my favorite: show someone the door!  Read these synonyms for depose again and fill in the blank and keep in mind that this is what has been done to fallen angels and dark rulers in the heavens. Fill in the blank with whatever dark power tries to influence you. Remind it that it has been deposed and put it under your feet.

Let’s go back to Luke 11. After teaching the Lords’ prayer, Jesus delivers someone from demonic influence. Verse 20: But if I cast out demons by the finger of God, the kingdom of God has come upon you.

We pray Your kingdom come your will be done as it is in heaven.

Where His kingdom is darkness is deposed.
